Domenico Tedesco: We played well up front

After the 2-2 friendly draw with KRC Genk, head coach Domenico Tedesco was pleased with his team’s performance. Mark Uth and Daniel Caligiuri were both happy with their efforts too. schalke04.de has summarised the trio’s thoughts.

Domenico Tedesco:

After a few small difficulties, we dominated the game and made several good chances for ourselves. I thought it was quite an intensive match considering it was only a friendly. Both sides have trained with a high intensity here, but this didn’t stop us all putting everything into this game. We won a lot of tackles today too. I think we are going in the right direction. Today’s performance was a good ending to the training camp and we can now look forward to Wolfsburg. We are ready for them!

Mark Uth:

Our offensive performance was good, but Steven Skrzybski and I found it hard on occasions to mark their defensive midfielder. Overall I can be happy with my performance today. We didn’t score enough goals from set-pieces in the first half of the season. Someone has to be running it at the back post from a delivery like that, so it was great that I managed to get on the end of such a good cross. We played well in the second half, got the second goal and nearly a winning one. The training camp has gone very well and we can now go into the rest of the season with some confidence.

Daniel Caligiuri:
